How well do you know
really know your phone?
It spends all day in your hand, your pocket and next to your head while you sleep.

You may even give it to your child to play with. Maybe you also have a 5G mobile, and it is faster, better, and you can binge your favourite shows faster and better than ever before. Great, right!

Right?

Time to buckle up, and let’s kick off this ride with some fun facts.

FUN FACTS! DID YOU KNOW…

The devil is in the details. Even Apple warns not to carry your phone in your pocket.

Have you ever read your iPhone’s instruction manual? Check the fine print. Many phone manufacturers tell you not to carry your phone in your pocket or hold it against your head because your exposure to the electromagnetic-field radiation can exceed federal guidelines, and often for hours at a time. It’s written in teeny tiny print buried towards the back page. You know, in that little book you got with your phone that no one ever reads?

Not worth the gamble.
5G is currently “uninsurable”, according to global insurance authority.

A 2019 report by insurance world-leader, Swiss Re, explains that the global insurance industry will not insure 5G networks because they are deemed as "high risk", due to ever-increasing evidence of harmful electromagnetic frequency radiation and information and cyber security concerns.

WHO can we trust? Even the World Health Organisation has some explaining to do.

The current head of the World Health Organisation’s Radiation Programme is Emilie van Deventer. Her WHO programme is meant to ensure we and our children are shielded from radiation. However, she is a technology engineer with no health credentials who is working alongside telecommunications companies, and her latest project was to “increase effectiveness of technology”, not to protect the global population from unsafe radiation via new technology. She was recently quoted saying to a journalist “Industry doesn’t care about safety. They care if the technology works.”

A biased Parliamentary inquiry? Surely not!

At a series of 2020 Parliamentary inquiries into the safety of 5G technology across Australia, key speakers noted on the public record that the hearings were “carefully structured” to allow more speaking time (45 minutes each) for the pro-5G speakers, as opposed to the shared 30–45-minute time slot (approximately three minutes per person) allocated to those against 5G. The pro-5G speakers all spoke in person at the hearing, while all the anti-5G speakers were “forced” to speak by teleconference.

Get ready for the science.

Your mobile phone emits electromagnetic field (EMF) radiation. And the WHO classifies this type of radiation as a Class 2B Carcinogen. Tens of thousands of scientific studies link exposure to this radiation to negative health outcomes, including cancer, DNA damage and infertility, and can contribute to the development of depression, diabetes and heart irregularities.

There are currently over 2000 peer reviewed reports that show biological harm from wireless radiation. A 2017 study by the French government found that 89% of tested phones exceeded their reported radiation emission levels— some by up to 300%. Meaning they emitted up to four times the radiation the manufacturers claimed. But not only do these phones emit more radiation than the manufacturers claim, but these phones also vastly exceed the legal limits of radiation emissions when held in contact with the human body – like in the way they are designed to be used.

And in 2018, the US National Toxicology Program’s (NTP) $30M study also found “clear evidence” that mobile phone radiation led to an increased rate of cancer and genetic damage in mice.

Put simply, this radiation is bad.

So, it’s widely known that mobile phones emit this harmful radiation, and yet there are currently no credible tests performed to measure or assess this radiation. The Sam dummy is the only test for mobile device radiation in the world.

Once again.

Currently there is NO safety testing done on human beings anywhere in the world. Only on SAM.

In summary:

Mobile phones are tested on a plastic dummy, in conditions that are distorted by manufacturers and approved by regulators.

In short, these tests are an unfunny joke. And the Supreme court agreed. In a landmark case in 2021, Sam testing was condemned by the courts as fraudulent, negligent and found that the governing body had ignored substantial evidence of harm (including on children) as a result of the lack of credible testing.

So, why exactly is the Sam testing flawed?

get ready!

Firstly, Sam, the test dummy, consists of a plastic head. It has no tissue, organs or bones, torso, arms or legs and bears no physical resemblance or similarities to an actual human.

The plastic test dummy head is based on a male of 100kg and 6ft, and this body type and size represents 3% of the actual population. There is no allowance for the 97% of the population who are not in this range, and it is widely proven that children absorb twice the radiation of an adult.

The testing carried out on Sam only measures the HEAT generated by the device, not the RADIATION emitted or absorbed. If the heat in Sam’s head does not increase by 1 degree Celsius, the test is considered a success.

SAM even failed his own test, before the addition of a piece of plastic was introduced. This 10mm piece of plastic, or “spacer” where his ear would be, allows enough room between the device and the dummy so he passes the test.

A device tested on Sam is tested one occasion, for between 6 and 30 minutes, being held against the 10mm plastic spacer.

The testing is carried out by the phone manufacturers themselves. They are not governed or policed by an external body, but according to legislation, are permitted to test the devices internally using Sam. They can choose one model from their product suite, test it on Sam for 6 minutes for a possible increase in heat of 1 degree, then it is deemed safe for global distribution and human use.

SAM is the only test wireless radiation currently in existence and he is used worldwide. And these global guidelines are all extremely similar: the Sam dummy is, alarmingly, the international standard for testing.

SAM doesn’t represent children, women or the elderly. Many people have smaller and thinner skulls than SAM, and research shows children absorb 150% more radiation than this dummy SAM.

If the current radiation weren’t bad enough, enter 5G!

The thing about 5G is that unlike its predecessors 3G and 4G, 5G works a little differently.  5G is not replacing 3G and 4G, it is in addition to it.

The latest 5G wireless technology involves the installation of a very large number (think 800,000) of new, smaller antennas and transmitters, that will be closer to the ground closer to homes and schools.

If all of this seems fishy to you, it’s because it is.

This landmark court case proved it to be. Now we’re working hard to broadcast these facts and help people make informed decisions to benefit their families.

The global telecommunications market is a staggering 17 trillion-dollar industry. These are very deep pockets, containing grubby hands experienced and comfortable with suppressing the truth, influencing regulators and flaunting the weaknesses in the system; these being the laws and processes surrounding device safety testing.

Companies and products are often deemed innocent until proven guilty, and sometimes a guilty verdict and extent of the damage won’t be revealed for decades.

Would you trust the cigarette companies or the makers of asbestos and the people who lied and covered it up for years to dictate your family’s safety?
Neither would we.
